These developments are already yielding widespread tangible benefits to the people in the surrounding regions. The local impact of MARG Swarnabhoomi is in the form of economic spill-over of education, employment and socio-economic upliftment. Besides the above benefits MARG Parivarthan – the CSR programme offers comprehensive development opportunities exclusively for the neighbourhoods that focused on improving vital social parameters like Access to quality education, better health services, social infrastructure, livelihood options etc.

MARG Swarnabhoomi has established a free 24 hrs first aid centre along with an ambulance service that is used by surrounding villages. MARG also contributes to the success of state government’s health scheme under ‘Varumun Kappom Thittam’ by assisting the local Primary Health Centres. Regular health camps are being conducted for the benefit of the villagers around MARG Swarnabhoomi.


MARG Swarnabhoomi has taken up several construction activities to improve basic amenities in village panchayats in collaboration with Kancheepuram district administration under the State Sponsored Scheme Namakku Naame Thittam. Many civil works were taken up on our own such as drainage facility at Vellore village, provision of 175 street lamps to light up 3 panchayats around MARG Swarnabhoomi, Drinking water facilities etc.


MARG in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) had initiated - Grassroots Level Skill Development Initiative (GLSDI) that targeted unskilled workforce surrounding MARG Swarnabhoomi, by imparting basic training on employable skills. Through this initiative hundreds of youth were given a 15 day intensive pre - employment training with over 60 % being placed in jobs at a job fair. This initiative has been widely recognized as a pioneering effort towards skill development in rural areas.

Green Kalam @ MARG Swarnabhoomi, 30th September 2011

MARG Swarnabhoomi hosted Actor Vivek’s ambitious ‘Green Kalam’ project , a mega environment friendly initiative undertaken to plant 1 million saplings across Tamil Nadu. The Green Kalam project was the brainchild of former President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, who wanted to see a greener Tamil Nadu by planting one million saplings. 25,000 saplings were planted at MARG Swarnabhoomi by the residents of MARG Swarnabhoomi, students of MIDAS and MARG Navajyothi Vidyalaya.
Mahayagnam of Tree Sapling Plantation - On the occasion of Children’s Day 2010, MARG in association with Indian Telugu Association (ITA), a non-profit Telugu cultural organization, organized a mass tree saplings plantation drive. 900 school students actively participated and planted 5000 saplings at MARG Swarnabhoomi.
